Red Kite SAR's Consultancy's owner is Rob.
He is a long term specialist in rescue and pre hospital medical care. He was with a Mountain Rescue Team for six years from 1998 to 2004 and then spent thirteen years up to 2017 as a Coastguard Rescue Officer with two Coastguard Rescue Teams across the South Wales area.
He is trained in rope, mud and water rescue as well as search management and officer in charge duties. While in Mountain Rescue he was qualified in all aspects of rescue and before he finished with the team was one of the Team Medics and Junior Medical Officer.
He spent fifteen years working as the operations mananger for an independent ambulance company working on patient transport, events and response duties.
Trained in Major Incident Management as well as Emergency Planning, Rob has been extending his training with regular CPD sessions and Open University modules in pre hospital care and paramedical studies and is still working towards attaining his formal Paramedic Qualifications.
Recently Rob has extended his knowledge and training with commercial industrial qualifications in High Risk Confined Space working (and Breathing Apparatus check and use), Safe Work at Height and Rescue and eCITB Safety Passport Scheme. He is intending to further his extensive knowledge in rope rescue with Rope Access qualifications after the Covid-19 lockdown.
He was accepted onto Coventry University's Online MSc in Emergency Management and Resilience Programme which started in September 2019 studying part time over the next three years. This qualification will give him even more experience, skills and knowledge in the fields of Emergency Planning, Resilience, Incident Management and Incident Exercise and Training which he can then bring to his advisory and planning roles for the company clients.
We have a core staff of rescue specialisits of serving and former from the UK Fire and Rescue Services, Mountain Rescue and HM Coastguard Rescue Service. These staff are trained to national standards across all the specialist commercial and industrial rescue disciplines of Water Rescue, Rope/Line Rescue and Confined Space Rescue. Some of our team are also trained in remote medical care as Mountain Rescue and Expedition Medics.
We also have a good working relationship with other similar companies (to the same national standards) across the United Kingdom and support each other on works as requested.
